Ok.. in this case, it’s not a witch.  It’s a warlock.  That infamous warlock being, of course, Venril Sathir.  Despite being a Tier 2 boss mob, he’s notorious for being an enormous pain in the ass.  Those of you who were with us last night know that.

Venril is also a rite of passage for any young raid guild.  Killing Overking wasn’t all that hard.  Killing Leviathan was actually sorta fun.  The first few namers in Veeshan’s Peak are entertaining, at best.  Venril, though, is a true test of the mental fortitude and conviction of any guild.  Passing this test is no small feat.  So, congratulations to all of you who got your mythical updates last night (there were 8 of them!) and thanks to everyone for continuing to show why this guild is so great.  Everyone was patient, remained focused, and acted respectfully to each other, despite a few rough spots.  You all even weathered a rare (but perhaps timely) raid-leader meltdown

It’s now time to grind and show Nexona who’s boss.. but I’m sure that will just be a another speedbump in Delusion’s march through RoK… even if that march is to the beat of a different drummer

We’re six month old, so we celebrated with…

I’m sure we always heard people tell us “do your homework” as we were growing up. I hate to say it, but I tell that to my kids, too. Maybe one of the greatest strengths of this group is that we listened. As we’ve traveled down this road together, we’ve been doing our homework, not getting impatient about pushing ourselves too far, too fast, and learning our lessons.

Last night, it paid off once again. On our first visit to VP, we successfully (albeit slowly) navigated some pesky trash mobs to get to Kluzen the Protector. About three minutes later, we claimed our first kill in VP.

Being the persistent bunch of caffeine addicts that we are, we didn’t stop there. A not long after that we claimed our 2nd kill — Elder Ekron — in what turned out to be a fun game of “whack-a-dino”. Since screenshots of kills aren’t all that interesting in a fight that ties together recycled strats from Sarik the Fang (a mob spawning every 10%) and others (little adds that heal the namer if they get too close to him), I’ll just post our top-secret, uber-leet strat… (shhh.. don’t tell anyone)…

There.. now you all know how we did it Thanks to Quilem’s talented son for actually listening to the strategy and capturing it in this handy diagram for us! (now.. if I could get a ranger to pay this much attention, i’d be on to something!)

So what’s next? Well.. it’s time to bring on the mythicals… but before we do that.. it’s time to tame the beast..
